  • The standard version of the hydraulic grips from 50 kN to 250 kN features an excentric offset between piston and piston rod. This allows also the specimen grips with short clamping lengths to be tested
  • The large opening width and long clamping stroke make these specimen grips extremely versatile.
  • Small load cells, specimen grips, test fixtures and devices can be attached via T-slots incorporated into the lower part of the grip body.

Hydraulic grips for short clamping-lengths

The jaw insets of these hydraulic grips are supported and held parallel by a third actuator. This patented method allows specimens with short clamping-lengths (jaw coverage) to be held securely also.

Advantages of hydraulic grips for short clamping-lengths

Hydraulic grips employing the 'body over wedge' operating principle

The gripping force is hydraulically transmitted to the wedge jaws via the body of the grips. Because the jaws do not move in the test direction, clamping is 100% parallel. These grips are suitable both for static tensile and compression tests and for fatigue tests in the pulsating tensile/compressive stress range or in the alternating load range. Superimposed torsional loads can additionally be applied.
